Tall cabinets reach from the floor up, so they add storage without using more wall. A pantry cabinet holds food, small appliances and bulk items. Oven and microwave cabinets frame your appliance, and refrigerator cabinets build a surround around the fridge.

Start with the appliance. Read its spec sheet for the width, height and depth of the opening it needs, then choose the cabinet made for that size. Do this before you order, not after.

Many kitchens line the top of a pantry up with the top of the wall cabinets, which keeps the room looking even. Put the pantry at the end of a run, where it will not block the counter. Tall cabinets are sold in Forevermark finishes, or American Royal finishes in New Jersey only.
